I'm in loveeeeeeeee!
I won't tell you with who/what, though you probably will guess by the end of the post =)
Got up early and headed to Harbourfront mall macs for breakfast. Picked Cheryl up on the way and met Ben there. Bimbos unite! =P Had a yummy breakfast and headed to the Doulos for service.
I must say, it really was interesting. They're so relaxed, you know? The drummer walked in late, but nobody really bothered. How cool is that! See, worship can still go on even without fantabulous music :) It was interesting cos we sang quite a lot of songs. Heh.
The message was good, George Barathon preached on Joseph and his qualities. I realised there's so so much we can learn from this man. -sigh-
First up on the Inside Out programme, we headed to a family cabin to chit chat. It's really nice, there're "families" on board the ship. A married couple has about 12/13 single "children". It's cool! Had a nice chat with the couple and learnt a lot about the ship too :)
Then we had lunch, which was, as usual, yummy =P and I mistook lamb for beef, how embarrassing. Anyway, after that we went to work again. And hurray hurray, my Accom group got posted to Book Exhibition! Hip hip! heh?
Anyway, Cheryl and I were supposed to pack the books which was actually really fun, though we were sweating like pigs. Lugging heavy books in a hot bookstore is... hot. But it was really really fun anyway! Then I had to go outside to the crane deck and like, advertise. Actually I was just supposed to be a statue and answer questions if people asked.
But after about 20 minutes I realised nobody was asking anything and I wasn't intending to stay in the sun for the next 40 minutes cooking. So I decided to start advertising, "marketing", as one of the guys put it. And it was slightly better la :) I was going "Everything for $5 only!" cos I thought nobody would actually realise I was saying everything, but somebody did, so I changed to "Every item for $5 only!" Haha.
Not funny actually.
Anyway, had break, and they served German bread. Oh my goodness, nicest home-baked bread in the world. Ship-baked maybe. that sounds retarded.
Anyway, we played this game and it was sooooooo cool. We were given "passports" and we were supposed to be Evangelites. But we were told to be careful what we say, what information we reveal, cos in some countries you could get arrested for being a Christian etc.
So we headed to the first station, the Immigration checkpoint. Had to fill in a few VISA forms and it was a little intimidating. Haha. Then they questioned me a lil on whether I was a Christian (which I said Yes cos I ticked Yes) then they asked me what I was doing in the country. Bla bla, then they let me go.
I was blindfolded and taken to a dark dark room by some security guards. Then they shone a really bright light in my face and when my eyes got accustomed to the darkness I saw 2 men dressed like The Mafia and his Accomplice in front of me. The Mafia was this black guy who was really really really good, the Accomplice was a caucasian man who was just trying not to laugh. The Mafia acted really really well, and I was pretty stunned so I just well, stared at him. Interesting.
I got thrown into prison. PRISONBREAK OLEH! (too bad I had no prison blueprint on my body)
Rebecca was inside so we talked a bit. I think this is getting too long. Anyway, they took our Bibles from us and let us go. Then we went to a home, with a German couple. They could only speak in German! So we were supposed to evangelise, but somehow find a way even though we could only speak in English and they couldn't understand English. If we can't even speak Chinese properly obviously they won't understand right.
Anyway, we tried to tell them that they are sinners (as we are) and that we will always do wrong things. Haha, and they kept denying it and saying that they were good people. Haha. And that's why we can never be close to God, since God is holy and above all. But because God loves us, He sent Jesus to bridge the gap between Man and God. So now we can know God as long as we believe in Jesus! =)
It took us really long to get that message across, cos almost everything didn't work so we tried to act it out to them and it worked! =) It was really funny, cos at first they were thinking "God" was "board" cos we were pointing up. And they were saying "board loves us!" haha which was hilarious. And they thought "dead" was "dance". Haha. But in the end they prayed with us :) Amazing!
It was such an eye-opening experience, wonderful indeed. Really awesome. Although everything was just play-acted, it was really real and it really made us work it.
Over dinner the Mafia and the security guards came to say hi, haha they're soooooo friendly, oh my goodness it's overwhelming.
I really love all the people on the ship, they're all so cheerful and friendly and smiley :) and you can see how God is working in all of their lives, how God is moulding them and shaping them for His purpose. I really love Conny and Liza, 2 lovely women of God. Really, it's just so amazing.
I guess the past few days on the Doulos have really tuned me into missions, and I don't believe it's coincidence or anything. I really want to go into missions, to join the ship when I'm older. I really want to be moulded for Him, to be moulded by Him. I really want to work on the ship. The people are wonderful, probably the best colleagues anywhere. And the work is just so.... warming. Words can't really express what I feel now.
But whatever it is, I'm going out into the mission field.
Hopefully after my A levels! :)
Oh ya, so you could've guessed, I'm in love with the Doulos, and with the people on the Doulos, and with God for blessing the world with the Doulos :)
What, ho, what, ho, what, ho!9:32:00 pm
